Pretty Pits: How To Give Yourself A Dove PitiCure

Another amazing treat just in time for summer? Why, a Dove PitiCure of course!
Who knew that you could give your armpits the equivalency of a facial?! I certainly didn't until last week when I attended the Spa Week media event and got my first ever PitiCure from Dove. At first, I thought the sign was spelled wrong and they meant a "pedi"cure. But, this service was all about the armpits and the best part is that you can do it at home. Created by Dr. Debra Luftman especially for Dove, it's so easy to do that you'll wonder why you never thought of it yourself! (Or, at least I did anyways).

-Start by using a gentle exfoliating body wash or towelette to remove impurities that cause irritation, ingrown hairs and red bumps. (Try the Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes Micro Dermabrasion)
-Rinse thoroughly, shave normally and pat underarms dry with a towel.
-Apply Dove Deodorant, which not only contains a tri-moisturizing system that soothes shaving irritation and helps replenish delicate underarm skin, but also provides the 24-hour odor and wetness protection you've come to expect from Dove. * Yes, this is verbiage straight from the press release haha*

But the Dove Ultimate Beauty Care Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant ($3.89-$4.88) really is great! It smells great, is gentle on your skin yet not so gentle that it won't keep you smelling so fresh and so clean clean. It even comes in a sensitive, fragrance free form (Ultimate Sensitive Care).
Dr. Luftman also shared this great tip with me that night as well: don't keep your razors in the shower. Items left in the shower can become breeding grounds for bacteria - which can lead to shaving irritation and infection. So you know those cute little containers that your razor usually comes with for you to hang it in the shower? Yeah, those are pretty pointless. I now keep my razor in the bathroom cabinet and when it's time for use, I just reach over and grab it out. Then again, I do live in a pint-sized New York studio apartment, so this may not be plausible for those that live in say, a real house in the suburbs outside of this bubble known as Manhattan. If that's the case, store it somewhere else and be sure to put it back when you're done with it in the shower.

What do you think, Glamazons? Will you be giving yourself the Dove PitiCure?
