New Beauty Brand On The Block: L'Bel

There's Avon, Mary Kay and now L'Bel! I was recently introduced to this brand at a beauty breakfast last week and, after extensive testing of the products, was presently surprised to learn that this is actually good stuff.
After getting over my initial excitement of the fact that there was actual breakfast there (side note: I can't tell you the countless number of these things that I attend where breakfast only consists of a piece of fruit and coffee and I leave starving!) we (i.e. us beauty editors and bloggers) were given the entire background of the brand. I'll spare you the extremely long winded presentation we received (it's a good thing there was lots of coffee!) but I will tell you that the brand is French (hence the exotic name).
It just hit the U.S. and is sold through independent advisors (just like how you'd purchase products from Avon and Mary Kay). After flipping through the catalog provided in the goody bags we received at the end of the event, I noticed that there are products in the cosmetic, bath, body and fragrance arenas as well as goodies for men. So far I'm loving the Intensive Moisturizing Hand Cream, Hydra Calme Moisturizing Body Milk Lotion and Megacils XP False Lash Effect mascara. This stuff is super affordable (the mascara is only $15!) so you won't have to worry about breaking the bank in order to get your hands on some truly luxurious products. For more information on how to purchase, simply click here to visit their website. Happy shopping!

Shop Estee Lauder, Fergie Shoes and More for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is here! Now is as good a time as any to donate to breast cancer research and spread awareness.

But don't let it stop once October ends. For many women and their families, breast cancer is a year-round reality. In the past two years, breast cancer has affected my life; my aunt passed away from breast cancer last year, and another treasured family member is currently fighting it.

I miss my Aunt dearly, and am helping my family member through her own battle, but I don't at all feel defeated or discouraged.

Everyday, scientists are coming up with ways to combat the disease including a breathalyzer that will soon be used to detect cancerous cells. And by going for routine checkups, I can personally do my part to prevent it and get early detection should I be diagnosed. And I encourage every woman to do the same!

That's not all. You can indulge in some guilt-free beauty, clothing and shoe-shopping, where proceeds are donated to breast cancer research.

Fergie is selling a hot pink pump (the Hope shoe) from her line, Fergie Shoes, during QVC’s “FFANY Shoes on Sale” event on October 15th. She'll sell the adorable pump for half the price, with 100% of the proceeds going to breast cancer research! Love it. Watch QVC on Friday, October 15th to shop the shoes from 7PM to 10PM.

In the meantime, you can shop these fab finds to donate to breast cancer research. From Essie nail polish to Bobbi Brown eyeshadow to Lily Pulitzer scarves, the proceeds are going to a good cause. See, good for your closet and your conscience!

TWEET TO WIN IT!: Avon's Frizz Control Lotus Shield

Unless you live in the arctic areas of Siberia (it's really cold there, right? I was always horrible at geography smh), your hair is probably a frizzy mess. Not that it would normally be a frizzy mess, but I'm just trying to point out that summertime is here and the weather is hot and steamy. (Hence your hair usually turns into a frizz ball.) If you have a perm, you're a lot better protected than those of that don't. Another option is to get a Brazilian blow-out, but those can be kind of pricey.
Don't worry! We (i.e. The Glamazons) have teamed up with Avon to offer one lucky winner this brand new product that's going to save your hair LIFE this summer. The beauty brand is launching the Advance Techniques Frizz Control Lotus Shield ($12) in July and, let me tell you, this stuff is the truth! It's technology is based on the fact that it imitates the lotus leaf, which lives in water but has a surface structure that repels droplets of moisture. I've been using the stuff for about a week now and there's no frizz to be found in my hair (even though we're currently experiencing 90 degree temps here in NY...ew). Just wash your hair, towel dry, apply the Lotus Shield and style your hair. Somehow it manages to stick (even if you use heat styling after washing).
You want it now, right!? It's ok to admit it if you do...I want more of the stuff myself!
To win it, all you have to do is follow us on Twitter and re-tweet this post. It's that easy. Coutura and I will pick one lucky winner on Thursday, July 1. Good luck!

MARK Names "Twilight" Star Ashley Greene New Face of Brand

Move over Lauren Conrad....there's a new MARK girl in town!
Avon's MARK decided not to renew Conrad's contract with the brand (and thank God because I think she's beyond boring...yawn...) and decided to go with actress Ashley Greene to portray the newest brand ambassador. (And for those of you who live under a rock and have no clue who Ashley Greene is, she's the girl that plays that kick-ass vampire Alice Cullen in the "Twilight" movies.)
"Initially, I was drawn to MARK because of the products," Greene, 23, told WWD. "But what really sealed the deal was its empowering message to young women, which is something I relate to."
What great news for MARK! I'm a huge fan of the products, so here's to hoping that Greene will inject some more spunk into the brand.

The Amazing Lip Stain That Has Changed My Life!

Ok, so maybe I over exaggerate a bit (per usual when it comes to finding beauty products that I love!) but I kid you not when I say that this lip stain is pretty epic. Why? Because it mixes together two of my most fave things: glossy lips with color that last. You simply must find your newest mark dealer and get your hands on mark's Gloss Gorgeous Stay-On Lip Stain!
I like it most because the formula is non-drying to your lips. I kind of hate the fact that most lip stains don't have any moisture to them and that I always have to apply some sort of clear gloss on top. The mark Gloss Gorgeous Stay-On Lip Stain is all inclusive (moisture + color that lasts without being too harsh and overbearing) and now has become a permanent staple in my makeup bag. (And did I mention that it's in a cute, clickable pen form?! Love.)
There are 5 shades available: Bare (my fave! a nude); Lolli (a cherry shade); Pop (a coral shade); and Bella (a blush shade). Each retails for $9.
Happy gloss-staining!

Avon Names Keri Hilson New Spokesmodel

How much do you love that Keri Hilson will be the newest face for Avon?!
The beauty brand announced Hilson's role this week at their annual leadership conference in Las Vegas. According to WWD, she will replace Jennifer Hudson (who signed with Avon in 2007 and now has a contract with Weight Watchers) as the face of the cult classic fragrance, Imari. Here's what Lily DeStefano, executive director of Avon North America beauty, had to say about the collabo:

"Keri just brings a youth and vitality to our brand. I think that she's just the perfect transition. We are looking to bring in a younger, fresher target, also a more diverse audience as well."

Hilson, who noted that she was being very selective with the brands that she collaborates with, told WWD that she loves fragrance, beauty and teaching women to feel confident about themselves.

Fergie Creates A Fragrance

The Black Eyed Peas' singing machine Fergie has teamed up with Avon to release a new scent called Outspoken by Fergie. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Fergie and respect her talent, but I don't look at her as being a front runner in the beauty department. Shoes? Yes. Maybe even a line of athletic clothing or swimsuits. (Her body is banging!) But fragrance? I just don't know about that. But, hey! Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Here's what she told Women's Wear Daily about the upcoming fragrance:

"From my music to my wardrobe, my style is all about speaking up and making a statement. That's why my first-ever fragrance exudes independence. Outspoken definitely turns heads, but it also lets your true personality shine through."

Well, if her juice is going to make people "turn heads" while I'm wearing it, hopefully it won't be because it stinks! WWD reports that the juice is a "bold, floral fruity scent" packaged in a translucent black bottle with a cap inspired by the decor in her bridal suite on the day of her marriage. Outspoken by Fergie launches in September and will retail for $28.
