BEAUTY NEWS: Lady Gaga's First Scent To Smell Like Blood And Semen

Remember when we told you all about how Lady Gaga had inked a deal with Coty to create her own fragrance? Well, now we've got even more deets!

It has been confirmed that her debut scent will be called Monster and is officially being created in the lab. It seems pretty normal, but you know there’s always an eerie quirkiness to anything that Gaga’s involved with. Brace yourself for these deets-- she wants the scent to smell like semen and blood. No, I’m not kidding! If you’re a fan of smelling like man juice and other bodily fluids, then this is the fragrance for you.

Shock was not my initial reaction to the thought of spraying myself in a scent inspired by bodily fluids, but I must admit that the thought alone made me gag. The shock value was fairly low though, after all, this is Lady Gaga that we’re talking about! If there's ever an envelope to be pushed in society, she’s usually the one doing it. I mean just think about her alter ego Jo Calderone (yes, it’s a man) or her game-changing fashion sense and social impact on the world. Who’s to say that the beauty industry’s excluded?

The scent is scheduled to hit store shelves by Spring 2012 and I’m definitely not-so-eager to test it out.

Glamazons, what’s your take on the perfume? Will you be dousing yourself in this man juice and blood concoction?

Ciao Bellas!

BEAUTY NEWS: Heidi Klum Signs Fragrance Deal!

Supermodel, actress, producer, TV host, designer, glam aficionado, wife and mom…need I say more? Just when we though there was nothing else to be added to Heidi Klum’s style-rich list of credentials, she announced that she has partnered with Coty Inc. to create a signature fragrance called Heidi Klum Shine.

It does seem like another day, another new celeb fragrance line. The list of today's famous perfumistas reads like a Who's Who of Hollywood: Halle Berry, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Aniston, Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, Fergie, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige and more.

Anyone who has walked into a department store recently can attest: makeup counters are beginning to look like a newsstand with all of the celebrity names plastered on the packaging.

But in my opinion Heidi gets a pass. After all, she's not just a reality TV star with good looks and charisma (no shade, Kim K.), she knows a thing or two about cosmetics and perfume and obviously beauty. Just look at the girl!

Heidi's no newbie to the world of beauty. In 2007, she designed "The Heidi Collection" for the VS Makeup Collection and followed up with another collection in 2008. Heidi is also no virgin to the fragrance world. Not only did she rip the runway for years as a Victoria's Secret Angel, but she also launched two fragrances with them called “Heidi Klum” and “Me.” Shine will be the first fragrance to have her name, and no one else’s, on it. How fabulous!

I wonder if this project will be chronicled on Heidi's upcoming Lifetime reality show, tentatively titled Love Devine, where she and her singer hubby Seal play love doctors while traveling around the world offering couples advice.

Heidi Klum Shine is set for a Fall 2011 release.

Are you excited about this perfume, or do you think celebrity fragrances are just another marketing ploy?

Ciao Bellas,

Breaking Beauty News: Beyonce Launching New Fragrance, Heat Rush

So, remember when we told you that Beyonce was launching a second fragrance?! Well, the news is true, Glamazons! Coty just announced to Women's Wear Daily plans to launch a new juice from the songtress called 'Heat Rush' by February 2011.
Hmmm...seems like she's really running with this whole 'heated' theme. Although I personally think that the first fragrance 'Heat' is a mess (to me it smells like something your old auntie would wear...ew) I've got high hopes that this one will be better.
According to today's WWD, the scent contains top notes of passion fruit sorbet; blood orange and Brazilian cherry; a heart of yellow tiger orchid, mango blossom and orange hibiscus, and a drydown of teak wood, honey amber and Rio sunset musk. Mmmm! Doesn't that just read heavenly?! I sure hope that it smells so. From the looks of it, this one will be a bit lighter and not as musky smelling as the first one.
'Heat Rush' is set to hit a Macy's department store near you and prices range from $59 for 3.4 oz to $24 for 0.5 oz. There are also plans to launch a matching shimmering body cream ($24) and shower gel ($24).
What do you think, Glamazons? And, be honest, would you really purchase this fragrance if Beyonce didn't create it?!

Lady Gaga Inks Deal With Coty To Create Her Own Fragrances!

You know those rumors that have been milling around about Lady Gaga possibly creating her own fragrance? Well, they're true! According to WWD, the pop star has signed a long term fragrance deal with Coty, Inc. to create fragrances under her name.
Coutura and I were at Lincoln Center and heard about the news right after attending the Tracy Reese show. (More on that in a bit!) Of course, you know that we squealed with glee being that we're like, in love with Gaga. (But not in a sick-stalker-Stan sorta way; more like in an admiration-proud kinda way..if that makes any sense.)
Anyways, Coty finally spilled the fragrance beans to WWD and said that Gaga's first women's scent is slated to launch by Spring 2012. Kinda sucks that we'll have to wait soooo loooong to get our hands on the stuff, but we're just glad to see that she got the ball rolling on creating fragrances.
Any guesses as to what she'll name it? She's so eclectic that I honestly have no clue as to what she'll come up with. I mean, anyone who wears a bikini made out of raw meat is liable to come up with anything. Just as long as it smells better than Beyonce's first fragrance, Heat, than I'll be ok with it. (I'm still convinced that Bey's fragrance smells like something my great auntie would wear. Ew.)

GLAM OR SHAM?: Beyonce 'Heats' Up the TV Screen for Fragrance Commercial

We read what Ferocia thought about Beyonce's first fragrance, 'Heat' licensed by Coty. But with this commercial, does it even matter what it smells like? After the men finishing drooling and the ladies finish practicing the moves in the mirror in their favorite silk red dress, they will undoubtedly run to Macy's to purchase the fragrance.

What's more? To kick off the launch of 'Heat,' Beyonce will illuminate Union Square on February 2nd with a fiery red light and smoky fog, giving the city an aura that matches her sensual appeal. The lighting will serve as a backdrop to her super exclusive launch party for all her friends in media and entertainment.

On February 3rd, it's all about the fans. Beyonce will make a personal appearance at Macy's Herald Square, where the first customers to purchase the Beyonce Heat 3-piece fragrance set will get the chance to meet and pose with the pop icon. I can see the line of uncontrollable stans forming in my head, clamoring to touch the hem of her House of Dereon garment.

Both events will be chaotic enough to usher in the launch of the 'Heat' fragrance in true Sasha Fierce fashion.

What do we think of the commercial, Glamazons? It's superhot, that kind of play after 11pm with a parental advisory disclaimer hot. Is it too seductive for her super-clean image (cue her 20/20 interview airing in full today before the Grammy's)? [My boo said he forgot what she was selling: fragrance or...something else.] Or is it irresistibly sexy in a way only Beyonce can get away with?

What's the verdict? Glam or a sham?
