GLAM OR SHAM?: Beyonce's Laidback Leopard Print Cover-up
Queen Beyonce was spotted out on vacation in Portoferraio, Italy with husband Jay-Z in a leopard print cover-up.
In typical Beyonce fashion, she went heavy on the accessories with jeweled sandals, heavy hoop earrings, stacked bangles, a link chain necklace with pink jewels and sunglasses. Whew.
What do we think of her look? Too accessorized for a getaway or glamorous and chic? Glam or Sham? VOTE.

GLAM OR SHAM?: Kelis' Silver Sparkly Cleopatra Wig in St. Tropez
Nothing's wrong with having a free spirit, but a sparkly Cleopatra wig? That may be missing the mark.
For her latest performance, Kelis took metallic glitter to a whole new level with a shimmering wig---complete with blunt bags and straight edges to match.
She paired the wig with a gray jumpsuit cinched by a black waist belt, silver peeptoe heels, silver and gold chunky jewelry and a black jacket with sharp shoulders. The outfit is so chic that I have to wonder why she threw on a wig from the costume store to match it?
Kelis is known to push boundaries, but sometimes 'different' can be a disaster.
What say you, Glamazons? Is it free-spirited GLAM or a crying SHAM?

Kimora Lee Simmons Says Goodbye to Baby Phat
After fourteen years, Kimora Lee Simmons is saying farewell to the Baby Phat brand. The official statement says that Simmons will split from Baby Phat's parent company, Kellwood Company, on September 1st.
Via E! Online/Global Grind:
"After 14 years of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it's time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon," Simmons says. "I adore all those who have faithfully been with me since the beginning."
Wow. Kimora's celebrity image was so purposefully integrated with the Baby Phat brand that her departure is confusing and startling---especially when you consider her recent appointment as Creative Director of Phat Fashions. AND the fact that she starred in the vast majority of the Baby Phat ads. AND the fact that she, along with several other women, got a tattoo of the Baby Phat cat logo on her body. She built that brand from the ground up, invested everything into it and was so overwhelmingly proud of its success.
I remember being one of the first (I swear!) to wear the Baby Phat shirt while a Junior in high school, and though as I grew older Baby Phat labels were replaced by Tracy Reese and Rachel Roy, I still enjoyed attending the Baby Phat show every year. For me, it was one of the highlights of Fashion Week.
When their amazing PR rep, B.J. Coleman left, the atmosphere at the shows changed a bit and last Fashion Week (Fall 2010), there wasn't a runway show for Baby Phat at all. Fast-forward seven months and Kimora Lee is stepping away from the brand. Hmmm...
What do you think about her (seemingly) sudden departure? Do you think Baby Phat will survive without Kimora as the Creative Director...and the face? Did you see this coming?

AD GLAM: Zoe Kravitz for Alexander Wang
Of all the many amazing sightings at the MET Gala, I was happiest to run into Zoe Kravitz and Alexander Wang...because who could imagine a better pairing?
Young, edgy, free-spirited and beautiful in that natural "I don't put in a lot of effort" way, Kravitz is the perfect muse for Alexander Wang's design aesthetic.
After wearing his design to the MET Gala (a sure sign that a designer has chosen you as a celebrity favorite), Kravitz nabbed a spot modeling for his T by Alexander Wang campaign.
In t-shirts and smokey-eye makeup, Kravitz showed why she's a Fashion IT girl. She's sexy, a little mischievous and dangerous, and effortlessly cool.
Her fashionable mom, Lisa Bonet, and rockstar dad, Lenny Kravitz, must be proud. What's your take? Do you love the new ads? Was Zoe the right pick for Alexander Wang's campaign? Discuss.

GLAM OR SHAM?: Erykah Badu's Blonde Mohawk
Erykah Badu is my hero. Seriously. From Window Seat to her classic breakout single 'On & On' which I still play, she's some kind of amazing. (P.S. The entire album, New Amerykah Part II: Return of the Ankh is incredible. I play it all the time!)
What's most intriguing about her though is her free-spirited approach to beauty and fashion. Sweatpants, an afro and bold baubles? An African-print dress and sneakers? No combination is too funky or eclectic for Ms. Badu.
I had the great fortune of attending her concert at the Roseland Ballroom where she debuted a head-turning beauty look: blonde hair, which she has now turned into mohawk.
I'm pretty much a fan of anything Erykah does; and I think the blonde looks beeeautiful against her skin. What say you, Glamazons?
Is it Glam or Sham?

WOULD YOU WEAR?: Granny Panties
OK, Glamazons, I don't profess to be a fashion expert here, but I am an expert when it comes to the realm of underwear in that I have a horrible obsession with them. And when I say "horrible obsession" I mean that I collect the stuff in hoards and still have plenty with price tags in place that I haven't even worn yet. Without giving out T.M.I. here, just know that I have every sexy shade and cut known to man. But, granny panties? That would be a negative. I mean, what boy is attracted to you and your high waisted underwear?! Ew.
Now you may be reading this and wondering why I'm even blogging about the topic of granny panties, but I ran across this article stating that women everywhere are ditching their thongs (and other more attractive drawers) for high-waisted briefs. Apparently, all these women are inspired by the full-figured actress Christina Hendricks' character on the TV show Mad Men. According to the Daily Mail article, high-waisted underwear "flatters the hourglass figure by trimming in a woman's stomach and pushing out the hips and breasts."
OK, now let's look at the flip side of this: granny panties are ultra comfy and I'm not totally against the idea of rocking underwear that covers all of your, ahem, assets.
This may not be a bad thing for us, but what about your significant other? Will they still find you attractive in your high waisted knickers when it's "sexy time?" The only woman I can think of that's had success with those undies is the character Bridget Jones..remember these from the film Bridget Jones's Diary?! Hilarious.

And, let's face it ladies, these things make for the worst panty lines known to man! (Panty lines=major epic fashion fail)
There are also several other celebs that have been photographed rocking granny panties (ahem, Lady Gaga...that's her pictured above) but does that make it cool?
What do you think, Glamazons? Do you wear granny panties and happen to think they're perfectly fine?

Paris Hilton Slaps Some Weave In Her Head And Gets Sued For It

Tell me Glamazons: how does one get sued for wearing weave in their head? Well, just ask Paris Hilton. I swear it seems that this girl can do no right when it comes to handling up on her business in life. According to a recent post on people.com, the starlet is being sued for $35 million by the hair extensions company Hairtech International, Inc. They manufacture the Dreamcatchers hair extensions line that Paris signed a representation contract with in 2007. Apparently she doesn't think highly of their brand of weave because the company claims she was spotted wearing someone else's...scandalous! In addition, Paris missed a launch party for the company in 2007 due to the fact that she was locked up in the slammer.
But wait: unless the Hairtech sent out weave spies to follow Paris around, how in the heck would they know if she was wearing another company's weave or not?! Do those exist? Weave spies?! ahahahaha
Here she is pictured above at the fragrance launch party for her newest fragrance, Tease. (She's paying homage to Marilyn Monroe hence the short platinum blonde hair and super red lips. If you ask me, she just looks trashy..and did she get a boob job?!)

GLAM OR SHAM?: Halle Berry's September Vogue Cover
We gave you the scoop in June about Halle Berry's Vogue cover and well, it's finally here! The Academy-Award winning beauty covers the ginormous September Fashion issue sporting a blunt bog, and looking as beautiful and confident as ever.
Halle Berry is the second black woman to cover Vogue's September Fashion issue EVER. Naomi Campbell nailed the cover in 1989...yup, a whole 21 years ago.
Shot by Mario Testino, Halle Berry models one of Fall's biggest trends, velvet. Check out the inside spreads and tell us: what do you think of the cover and her new hair look? Is it GLAM or a SHAM? Do you find it upsetting that a black woman hasn't scored the cover of Vogue's September issue in more than two decades?
Discuss.

Guess Who's The New Face Of Proactiv?! Justin Bieber!!

Talk about the perfect face to get all those kids to buy your product!
The 16-year-old teeny bopper heartthrob Justin Bieber will be joining the ranks of celebs such as Diddy and Katy Perry as the newest face of the acne fighting skincare brand, Proactiv?
Here's what he had to say about joining the brand:
"This is kind of a way I can give back to my fans, by letting them know I use Proactiv and that it's really easy - one, two, three and you're done. My fans already know I'm just a regular kid, except the stuff about my life that's not regular...like performing to the thousands of kids and always being in the spotlight. But, I know that for a teenager, it doesn't matter how many people are looking at you, you don't want acne on your face."
But, this do-good kid is not only looking out for his face (and bank account); he's also using this deal to promote the nonprofit Pencils of Promise, an organization created to help expand education in developing nations.
I don't know about you Glamazons, but I'm kinda proud of the kid for snagging this skincare deal. I'll admit that I listen to his album from time to time hahaha. But, shouldn't he have a hair care deal by now as well?! (I mean, that's what he's mostly known for as far as looks go, right?)
What do you think, Glamazons?

AD GLAM: Beyonce Gets Fierce For Her New Dereon Ad
For the new Dereon ad, Beyonce is pulling out shoulder pads, lace cut-outs, diamonds, tattoos, buckles and motorcycles. If that's not fierce, I don't know what is.
Her makeup channels sophisticated, sultry glamour with platinum blonde cut and beautiful cat-eyes, accented by a cluster diamond necklace and chandelier earrings.
That glamour is juxtaposed with tattoos, buckles and a bike; tough luxe, indeed.
What do you think of Beyonce's new rock-glam ad? Glam or Sham?
