Naomi Campbell Dances to "Run This Town" at Dolce&Gabbana's Fashion Night Out Event

Of all the myriad events that took place at Fashion's Night Out, Dolce&Gabbana and Naomi Campbell's was one of the best. Why? Well, you gotta love a party with celebrity sightings (Naomi Campbell, Chris Brown, Fabolous) AND a dance routine to "Run This Town" performed by models in fishnets and leather hot pants. (Do you see Naomi working it below? Yes, girl, get it!)

Leave it to Naomi to throw one of FNO's most amazing soirees! Celebrating 25 years of excellence in modeling over her legendary career, Naomi and Dolce&Gabbana joined forces for a fab t-shirt line and an even more amazing event.

Naomi, who storms the catwalk like no other in the business, performed a dance sequence choreographed by the one-and-only Laurieann Gibson (you definitely know her from Making the Band, BoomKatPow! ring a bell?). Here she is pictured with the dancing models.

The models each represented a different look from Naomi's career and rocked one of the uberfab t-shirts, which boast iconic images of Naomi shot by world-renowned photographers from Steven Miesel to Patrick Demarchelier. The t-shirts support Naomi's amazing charity, Fashion for Relief.

After her fun dance routine, how could you not want to support? Check out pictures of the amazingness below. I'm sorry, no matter what anyone says about Ms. Campbell, that girl rocks!

Naomi and the amazing Anna Wintour who was literally everywhere last night!

Yum, Chace Crawford was there!

Naomi brings out all the boys: Chris Brown and Fabolous came by.

The gorgeous Selita Ebanks stopped by the event, in Dolce&Gabbana of course.

Denise Richards came to show her support.

Nicky Hilton also made an appearance in a cute LBD.

How cute are Naomi and Tyson Beckford

GLAM OR SHAM?: Chris Brown's Louis Vuitton "Kente" Scarf and Leopard Print Sneakers at the Takers Premiere

Chris Brown's stylist must have it out for him. After performing onstage in man capris, he showed up on the red carpet of the Takers L.A. Premiere looking a dusty fool.

Yes, Glamazons, he's wearing a Louis Vuitton scarf that brings to mind the Kente fabric my uncle wears during Kwanzaa ceremonies. (Doesn't he look like he smells like incense? Nag Champa?).

As for those leopard print sneakers, unless it's a tacky, printed Ronald Isley fur (<---kidding!), I am not a supporter of animal print on a man. It's too feminine and fetishized to come off sexy on anything other than a fierce woman. Do you agree?

And to add insult to injury, Chris, you threw on your girlfriend's tight vest on top of a black button-down shirt. What is the purpose of the vest? You can't even see it unless you stare close enough; and it's cinching your waist. Who is responsible for this horrid outfit?

In other news, Chris purportedly has the best scene in the movie, which I can't wait to see! Let's hope he's wearing better clothes.

GLAM OR SHAM?: Man Capris (Starring Chris Brown)

We've seen mandals, murses, even manties (recently on Diddy) but have capris ventured into testosterone territory as well? I'm afraid, the answer is yes.

Chris Brown was spotted showing off his ankles and calves onstage with Usher at Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica over the weekend.

Is this a fashion don't?

Some women don't even look right in capris. They cut off legs instead of elongating them (the trick to alleviating this problem? heels). That said, capris certainly can't be figure-flattering to men in flats.

Are you against man capris? Do they look flattering on Chris? Would you wear them (or be seen outside with a man that's wearing them)?

Discuss.

Today in Photoshop: Rihanna's Curves Go Missing on Cover of ELLE Magazine

In case you weren't aware, Rihanna loves her curves. The envelope-pushing fashionista was thrilled to see models flaunt their voluptuous figures on Paris runways (namely, Jean Paul Gaultier) according to her interview for the cover of Elle Magazine.

“I went to a Jean Paul Gaultier show, and I saw girls who are thicker than me, beautiful and voluptuous and different ethnicities. That made me so excited. I thought, Okay, I can work that, for sure,” Rihanna said.

Ironically, Rih's own curves seem to be missing from her Elle Magazine cover (waist? hips? boobs?). Critics are accusing Elle of being heavy-handed with airbrushing. Do you agree?

I love Rih's shape, in all it's curvy glory, and prefer to see it genuinely represented in editorial...especially, since Rihanna is vocal within the article about diversity in Fashion.

But...I'm still going crazy over that gorgeous purple and gold Balmain dress from the Fall 2010 runway in addition to the other glamazing Elle Magazine-worthy get-ups she rocks in the cover story. Check the shots, photographed by Tom Munro, below:

Love that leopard Lanvin trench! It seems the shoot is all leopard print (my favorite pattern, LOL). Hotness! Also, here's the runway shot and cover...I NEED that dress.

Whether she's draped in Balmain, Lanvin or one of her favorite designers, Alexandre Vauthier, Rihanna's curves bring all the boys to the yard. And one boy, in particular, Matt Kemp gets a sweet shoutout in the Elle Magazine article.

As for ex Chris Brown, Rih tells Elle that she either wanted to "be with him again or get over it." Uh...there were options? I'll leave that for you guys to discuss...

What do you think of the cover? Does it look airbrushed? How much do you love Rih's fashion? And umm...someone explain that Chris Brown comment.

Fashion Relief For Haiti Fund Show

Hey Glamazons! As you know by now, I've been spreading all of my talents around this season covering Fashion Week. It's loads of fun to have the freedom of writing not only for yourself (ie this amazing blog!), but also for other publications (ie check out a couple of my backstage beauty reports on honeymag.com here). However, the best experience so far has got to be interviewing supermodel Naomi Campbell. Yes, I, (ME!) talking with Naomi Campbell! If you'd told me 10 years ago while I lived in Texas that I'd one day interview her, I'd have laughed.
You'd never know it, but this lady is definitely all about giving back. (That doesn't mean that she isn't still crazy; but it seems like she has a little bit of heart somewhere in that sleek body of hers.) She's a global ambassador for the White Ribbon Alliance, a global coalition for safe motherhood. In this role, she helps expectant mothers in various countries get the care needed to not only stay healthy but to also deliver a healthy baby. Naomi teamed up with several top designers to launch Fashion for Relief charity shows in New York and London to help the women of Haiti. And here I was, asked to interview her about all of this business. I literally had 3 minutes to do so, but I think I got some good stuff out of her! Check out the video on essence.com and let me know what you think! Also, check out some of my fave looks (and moments) from the show (because you know I was sitting second row..what, what?!). A model even fell while walking down the runway (check out the last pic). Clearly she needs to take some walking lessons from Naomi.

I know he's made some seriously foolish mistakes in the past, but come on! Look how cute Chris Brown looks here! I met him backstage at the show and he was nice...not exactly the brightest crayon in the box, but a nice guy.

Selita Ebanks. 'Nuff said.
Who knew that Kelly Osbourne could look so sweet and svelte?! Loved her look in the show!

Estelle rockin' it on the runway!

Pat Cleveland rocked my world dancing on the runway. So much fun!

Fab or Flop: American Music Awards

Last night, the American Music Awards brought out a bevy of starlets, moguls and celebutantes who served up the glamour and glitz.

Photobucket

Luminaries, like Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift, sparkled in assymetric, metallic minis.

Photobucket

I think Miley stole the show with her black and gold strapless Marchesa dress, which merged the hottest trends of the season, metallic (the shimmery color) and goddess (draping and braided waistline). She was on fire!

Pink cleaned up nicely in a dazzling Vivienne Westwood gown with plenty of beaded embroidery. I loved the hair - the "Rihanna" goes across color lines.

Photobucket

Speaking of which, Princess Rihanna looked darling in a soft yellow ruffled dress by one of her fave designers, Zac Posen, with gloves and jeweled Devi Kroell peeptoe pumps.

Photobucket

One of the big winners of the night, she was just stunning. Never gets it wrong on the red carpet!

P.S. Though...was she channeling Slick Rick in her performance? She always pushes the fashion bar a little bit, which you gotta love.

Photobucket

She's really starting to look like Prince to me...which is a good thing---he's gorgeous, but I'm just saying...

Photobucket

Anyway, you be the judge. Who was fab, and who flopped?

I liked Christina Aguillera's Elie Saab gown (though haven't I seen her in something just like it before?) but her hair looked like a cheap Marilyn Monroe wig. I love her, but feel like something's always off...? And what'd you think of that medley? I was secretly waiting for Come On Over...but I'll get over it. FAB.

Photobucket

The Pussycats got all dolled up in designs from the fiercest bitch of all, Christian Siriano. Though I adored Nicole's dress and the yellow one was sooo chic, the rest was uninspired to me, and looked like I could pick it up at Bebe. Still FAB.

Photobucket

These two are a hot mess. And wasn't that the same Dolce & Gabbana gown Kim from Real Housewives of Atlanta wore to Deshawn's event? For some reason, I think Mariah and Kim would be friends (maybe once her country singing career takes off). Either way, it's a good look for Mariah. FAB.

Photobucket

P.S. Why did she feel the need to bring Nick Cannon onstage? Who does that? You're married, we get it. Do we really need to keep seeing him everywhere? And didn't he make jokes or something on his own? Can we let him get back to that?

Alicia Keys is sweet enough, but the look just wasn't cohesive. With a Grecian, one-shoulder Armani Prive gown, the Indian-inspired silver bindi came out of nowhere. And I don't get the earrings. But she's a natural beauty and shines regardless. Plus I thought her eye make-up, which accented her already exotic eyes, was phenomenal. FAB BY DEFAULT.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I was probably the most surprised by Queen Latifah. She looks tiny (go Jenny)!!! The assymetrical, metallic dress looked beautiful against her skin (as always, she just glows). And though the fit was a bit off, we can forgive that given all the weight she lost. Very glam! And I have to get those hoops once they copy them at Express. FAB.

Photobucket

And what was meaning of this? Why is Toccarra coming out looking like Lil Bo Peep Show?

Photobucket

Definite FLOP.

And let's not forget about the boysss!

Photobucket

Chris Brown looked amazing! I loved the contrast of the preppy bowtie and cardigan with the biker leather jacket. The pairing was edgy, cool and grown up for him. Looks like Rih's fashion sense is rubbing off...FAB.

Photobucket

I can't help but laugh at this picture. All the more reason to praise Chris Brown for making bow ties look cool. FLOP.

Photobucket

Ugh...I don't know what to say, Kanye. I know you wanted to promote your Pastelle line, but didn't you know you were going to an Award show tonight? It's not like you to not try (and that random fur thing you threw on does not count as trying). And to spaz out when you don't get awards and give the one you win away? I'm worried. FLOP.

Yeah and where was Beyonce on the red carpet?! Bey may have been MIA, but Sasha came onstage and killed it! Easily the best performance of the night. And I need a good superlong weave ponytail that flips around and bounces right back. Loove it! SUPERFAB.

Photobucket

I'd love to meet the Queen who came up with the idea for her to hold her weave up, then twirl it and saunter off the stage like Naomi Cambell. I bet he's ferosh.

So what'd you guys think of the fashions? Loved Christian Siriano's doll clothes? Think I'm wrong about Alicia's Indian-inspired bindi? Sound off.

Kisses,

Coutura
