Working in fashion and entertainment, I rarely need a reason to party. But welcoming 2011, and celebrating the end of a decade, is as good a reason as any.

I threw a party at my house and invited all my family and old friends, and had a glamtastic time bringing in the new year with some of the people I love the most.

Our favorite celebs seem to do the same with appearances, performances, toasts and laughs at some of the hottest party spots across the country (but mostly in Vegas).

VIDEO: Tom Ford's Womenswear Runway Presentation Featuring Beyonce, Chanel Iman, Joan Smalls, Liya Kibede and more

Tom Ford left no stone unturned in his quest to keep his fashion show under wraps. As I reported in September, he invited one photographer (the great Terri Richardson) and few journalists despite the megastars like Beyonce who walked in his show. His reasoning? He simply doesn't care for the "instant gratification" that comes from today's digital media platforms.

That didn't stop us, of course. Images of his first-ever womenswear collection hit the web and were soon followed by a shot of Beyonce wearing a sparkling gold dress and wild blonde curls. Now, video of the presentation has made its way online.

Turns out the seventies-inspired line of fitted dresses, playful prints and traces of menswear look even better in motion. Check out Beyonce, Liya Kebede, Julianne Moore, Joan Smalls, Chanel Iman and more storming the catwalk below.

Designer Crush: Kim Kardashian and Solange's United Nude X Iris Van Herpen Shoes

 As you already know, Kim Kardashian is making news headlines for her latest nude photo shoot (this time for W Magazine) but in my opinion, her latest shoe moment is way more interesting.

She hit the streets of NYC in a pair of United Nude X Iris Van Herpen shoes and Glamazons, I'm drooling! The "3-D appearing" shoes boast a claw heel and gold leather detail on the front.

LOVE! Solange rocked the same shoes in ivory while out and about during New York Fashion Week.

While the claw heel is surely an Alexander McQueen detail (that also showed up at Christian Siriano), I can't help but fall in love with the shoe. And to be fair, the gold leather strap adornment adds a unique and fabulous touch. The shoes cost a cool $1,295! Click here to shop.

While Kim Kardashian and Solange's shoes are a collaboration between United Nude and designer Iris Van Herpen, the other shoes in the United Nude collection are just as fab!

I completely fell in love with the Mobius, Eamz, Cup and Lo-Res boots from the line among others. All boast an exceptional detail from a conceptual "heel-less" bottom to cut-out detail on the side of a pump. Check out my newfound loves below.

Would you wear...a Turban like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kourtney Kardashian, Salma Hayek and Solange?

Goodbye fedoras. There's a new way to cover up a bad hair day inspired by traditional Indian ornamental headdress: turbans.

Regarded as a symbol of honor and respect in India (and called pagri), turbans hit my fashion radar this summer with Carrie's look on Sex and the City II.

Since then, the super-sophisticated look has permeated pop culture with style mavens like June Ambrose, Salma Hayek, Kourtney Kardashian and Solange Knowles wrapping their hair in gorgeous fabric.

And I'm loving the look!

Unlike a fedora for example, which primarily comes in solid colors, you can make a colorful, patterned turban the focal point of your outfit like Solange. 

And while bold glamazons like Solange and June Ambrose wrap their hair up in a turban, you can also rock a turban like a hat on top of your head and let your hair hang underneath like Salma Hayek and Kourtney Kardashian.
 

I'm not bold enough to wear it to a gala like June Ambrose...

But I will wear it with my hair peeking out like Salma Hayek or in the front like Solange this week since it's raining (and I just got my hair done!).

Would you...Wear Your Bra as a Top Like Rihanna and Solange?

Though it's Labor Day and summer is technically coming to a close, the weather is not freezing just yet. That gives luminaries like Rihanna and Solange more time to rock their beloved fashion statement: an exposed bra.

Letting a bra peek under a dress or through a slightly sheer top is nothing new. But these ladies are taking it to a new level.

Rihanna let her Alexander Wang sports bra get all the attention at the airport. Solange, on the other hand, chose to rock hers under a see-through lace top where it was clearly visible.

When you've got a great body---and better lingerie, it's tempting, if not necessarily appropriate, to show it off. But is rocking a bra as your top taking it too far?

I'm headed to the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn where bras will be exposed (as part of the Carnival outfit on the floats) for all to see. Fabulous for a festive occasion like today's, but is it suitable for every day?

GLAM OR SHAM?: Solange's Curly Fro Wig

Remember when Solange cut her hair and hit the red carpet in her bold, short cut? Me neither (maybe it was circa Fashion Week sometime when I took the above photo with her).

Now she's rocking a curly afro wig which is just in time for summer's obsession with natural hair.

Of course, criticism abounds with naysayers saying her wig is a rare combination of nappy and tacky. My take? I prefer the short, edgy look...but nothing says summer like a huge curly 'fro---even if it is a wig.

What's your beauty verdict? Is she sultry and GLAM or a dusty SHAM?

VIDEO GLAM: Beyonce as Daisy Duke in "Why Don't You Love Me?"

Don't call it a comeback, because she never left. Beyonce is back from her "break" with another video for the bonus track on her I Am...Sasha Fierce album, "Why Don't You Love Me?"


Written by sister, Solange, "Why Don't You Love Me?" is another anthem for the under-appreciated woman whose man is overdue for a curse out and break-up. 


The video, directed by Melina, is innovative and refreshing. Bey channels Hollywood sirens like Daisy Duke while burning food, fixing the car and dusting off her Grammys---all to be treated unkindly by her no-good man. 

Bey's association with these screen legends isn't merely innovative, but it also facilitates her never-ending quest to become an icon. And it seems she's been taking acting classes. That or the running makeup and martini glass really help set the atmosphere. She is brilliant at the ditzy Stepford wife role though. Check out the vid below:

Speaking of wife, it's rumored that Bey got a Brooklyn tattoo. I personally LOVE Brooklyn so I'm not mad at it. And I mean, her husband's from there. If he put a ring on it, represent any way you'd like.

Would you wear...Solange and my two-toned leggings?

Lindsay Lohan has an entire leggings brand. Laquan Smith's cut-out leggings are a celeb favorite. And jeggings (jean leggings) are flying off the shelves. Take one guess what the trend of the winter is.

And leggings aren't going anywhere soon. Designers are coming up with innovative ways to keep the trend going, from graffiti and spray-painted designs to two-toned leggings. And I just have to buy every last design! (I'm a leggings fanatic.)

My latest purchase was a pair of two-toned leggings from American Apparel. The front part is black and white striped and the back is pure black. Cat-in-the-hat meets Rhythm Nation.

When I bought them, Ferocia told me, she likes them for me but wouldn't be able to pull them off herself. Admittedly, I'm drawn to crazy, wild fashions and wear whatever attracts me at the moment (this is why I totally fit in in New York!) so I picked them right up.

Check out Solange and I rocking the American Apparel leggings below. Solange paired them with a white tank and off white blazer. I wore a black tulle, babydoll top under my leather McQ for Target vest.

Beyonce Heats Up Union Square With Fragrance Launch Party

Hey Glamazons! The creme de la creme of the beauty world mingled alongside our fave songtress Beyonce last night at Union Square for the launch party of Bey's first fragrance, Heat.

Everything was decked in red (including Beyonce who wore a cute little flouncy dress by Marc Bouwer) and at some points felt like maybe you were in the pits of a nicely fragranced, celeb studded hell. Little sis Solange was on deck as the DJ and other celebs that showed up to show support included Usher, Michelle Williams, Sherri Shepherd, mom Tina (daddy Matt was nowhere to be found) and of course, the huz Jay-Z (who so cutely declared his love for Bey when asked what he thought about the new fragrance!)

Front Row: BCBGMaxAzria Spring 2010 Collection with Solange, Amerie and Keri Hilson

Hey Glamazons!

Fashion Week is off to a fabulous start. This morning, the Glamazons, along with Keri Hilson, Solange and Amerie, checked out one of the hottest shows at the tents, BCBGMaxAzria. The show's message? The 80's is here to stay. Max Azria blew us away this season with his signature bandaged minidress (usually a staple at Herve Leger) with an exuberant, youthful twist. He experimented with eye-popping graphic prints and vibrant brights from hot pink to apple green. The silhouette was slouchy and comfortable as elegant---and super-flattering---draping ruled. Along with sexy bandaged minis, the asymmetric neckline is back for another season but this time, with racy, sheer cut-outs that are sure to turn heads. Mixed in with the electric neons were sophisticated neutrals like wispy white and gorgeous gray. And he even graced us with a few, floor-length fitted dresses with beautiful, show-stopping prints.

Here's the man of the hour at the end of the show. Such a tremendous talent!

And now for the front row! Sexy starlets, Solange, Keri Hilson and Amerie ruled the front row in glam, fashion-forward looks. We had to fight tons of photographers, reporters, camera crews and bloggers just to get to them! Complete mania but Ferocia and I are up for the challenge!

Solange wore a vintage black jacket with ropes strewn across the front and black sweats with a pop of color on the lips. Her haircut is even more stunning in person.

Keri Hilson rocked a gray BCBG tunic, mini and platforms, a spiky silver necklace and her signature, highlighted haircut. 

And fashion darling, Amerie, was gorgeous in a green BCBG dress, black Gucci booties and a matching clutch. Love that she remembered me from chatting at the office! She dished that she's super excited to see "BCBG, Davidelfin, Mara Hoffman and Fashion's Night Out" tonight. Maybe we'll see her at the FNO events?
