From The Closet: NEW Mascaras & Eyeliners from NARS

When I first laid eyes on these new products from NARS, I squealed with delight. Not only because I love NARS, but because I've never received any mascara from this brand and I'm obsessed with liquid eyeliner. So, into my makeup bag it went for a mini testing session. And, just like that, it has received the official Glamazon Seal of Approval! I love the Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara and Eyeliner Stylor in Blue Bayou!

-Results are dramatically dense
Available at Sephora and sephora.com

Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara, $25
-Features a conical wand of high-tech fiber bristles
-Unique brush encourages separation and nylon fibers hug to lashes for pronounced lengthening
Available at Sephora and sephora.com
* Both formulas are enriched with Vitamin E and Macadamia Nut Oil

Eyeliner Stylo, $27
-Felt-tip pen and high pigment formula
-Quick drying and long wearing
-Comes in Nuits Blanches (Black); Nabucco (Brown); Blue Bayou (Blue)
Available starting this month (ie NOW!) at narscosmetics.com

Here's some tips from the brains behind the brand, Francois Nars:
When applying masacara....
-Apply mascara with a back and forth motion, starting from the root and feathering out towards the tips. Allow the lashes to dry between coats and brush your lashes to guarantee no clumping.

When applying liquid eyeliner for the first time...
-Using the tips of your fingers, gently stretch out your eyelid to your temple for an easier surface to apply the liquid eyeliner. Trace your eye from the inner corner to the outer edge along the base of the lashes.

When matching up your eyeliner shades to your eye colors.....
-Nuits Blanches Stylo is a great staple for all eye colors since black is universally flattering. For those who want color, I recommend Nabucco Eyeliner Stylo, a brown hue that compliments hazel and green eyes, and Blue Bayou, a turquoise hue that works perfectly for blue eyes.

What to avoid.....
-When wearing colored eyeliner, avoid colored eyeshadows and stick with neutral hues. When a woman applies both colored eyeliner and eyeshadow, the colors compete with each other and the final look can be too much.
